“There will be a new round.” With a close-up of Young-hee, the deadly mechanical doll who helped make the program such a global sensation, those are the frightening words that accompany the artwork and teaser accompanying the hit Korean series’ return.
The comedic horror first aired in September of last year, and it followed 456 desperate competitors as they competed in a strange and deadly survival game that included many rounds. The prize was 45.6 billion won (just under £30 million), which would help them escape their predicament. Every game they play is a classic children’s game like Red Light, Green Light (policed by Young-hee), but losing results in death.
“This compelling, sharp parody of socioeconomic inequity is a wickedly fascinating journey,” says one reviewer.
Red light… GREENLIGHT!
