In a popular Instagram video from last month, the musician threatened to kill anyone who won the prizes for which he was nominated. “Rookie of the Year” and “Best Street-Hop Artiste” were the two categories for which Portable was nominated.
His failure to retract his statement and apologize on his Instagram page may result in him losing the prize, the ceremony’s organizers warned in a statement in response to the viral video.
The organizers also admitted that they had called the police to report the problem.
This morning, June 21, Portable apologized and withdrew his contentious statement in a statement posted to his Instagram page.
